We provide them on a daily basis. American TopDomain provides detailed access
statistics summary reports to its customers. They are based on our Web server's access log
files which grow very quickly (more than one Gigabyte/month on each server). To conserve
disk space, such logs are rotated on a monthly basis (i.e. cleaned out monthly). However,
within each month, accumulated access statistics are provided.
Such reports are normally generated every morning, after midnight and before sunrise,
Pacific Standard Time.
The access statistics summary report is placed in a subdirectory in your main directory
for you to browse on line or to retrieve via FTP. The report stays in your American
TopDomain Web account until the next one is generated. Up to seven days' worth of reports
are kept for your convenience.
Key items contained this report are:
- Number of requests (hits) per page
- Weekly/Daily/Hourly summaries
- What Domain the users came from: .com, .edu, etc
- What on your pages they looked at in % figures
- New users accessing your pages
- How your web pages are referred by others - the Referral Report
Browsers used by people visiting your web site - the Browser Reports
These statistics play a key role in determining what items on your pages are working
best and generating attention. This page is also very helpful in determining what target
audience you are reaching and their demo- graphics, as well as determining if a special on
a specific item was successful in drawing attention.
Out of the seven most current access reports, you can select any one of them for review
using the Access Statistics Management Wizard in your Account Manager.
Finally, if you prefer to use your own acess statistics software for report generation,
daily raw logs can be deposited in your account. You can again take advantage of the
Access Statistics Management Wizard for this purpose.
For an example, please see our Feature Showcase demo access
summary.
